What is keylogger malware?

Keylogger malware is a type of malicious software designed to secretly record everything you type on your keyboard. Hackers use it to steal sensitive information like passwords, credit card numbers, login credentials, and private messages.

It often runs silently in the background and can be installed through phishing emails, fake software updates, or compromised websites. Some advanced keyloggers even take screenshots or track activity beyond just keystrokes.

To protect yourself:

  • Use trusted antivirus software.
  • Keep your operating system and apps updated.
  • Avoid suspicious downloads and email attachments.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication for important accounts.

If you think your system is infected, run a full malware scan and change your passwords from a clean, secure device.
