Popup or pop-up is a name for an additional Internet browser window that usually is used for advertisements, but can also be a source of malicious software.
Norton provides multiple layers of defense against malicious software, viruses, or potentially unwanted applications or programs. However, except for iOS, Norton does not block the pop-up advertisements that come up in your web browsers, because of the feature being available by default in the web browsers.
NOTE: If you are looking for stopping Norton sales and marketing pop-ups, see our article How to stop Norton marketing and special offers pop-up notifications.
