It uses Norton\u2019s AI technology together with the power of compatible Windows PCs to analyze audio in real time and warn users about potential deepfake scams.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>deepfake<\/strong> is a realistic but fake piece of media created with AI to imitate a person\u2019s <em>face<\/em> or <em>voice<\/em>. While this technology can be used for harmless content, it is also increasingly used in scams, such as fake celebrity videos, <em>voice impersonation<\/em>, cryptocurrency fraud, investment schemes, and giveaway scams designed to trick people into sharing personal information or sending money.<\/p>\n<p><em>Norton Deepfake Protection<\/em> runs directly on your device and can automatically detect synthetic voices while you watch videos or listen to audio. It currently supports <strong>English-language audio only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important:<\/strong> Automatic Deepfake Protection is available only on <strong>AI PCs<\/strong> and <strong>high-performance non-AI PCs<\/strong>. On non-AI PCs with fewer than <em>6 physical CPU cores<\/em> and less than <em>8GB of RAM<\/em>, the feature must be installed manually. Automatic detection also works only on supported platforms, including <strong>YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, Vimeo, Instagram, Dailymotion, and Twitch<\/strong>.
