STEP 1<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

UNINSTALL ANY NON-NORTON SECURITY PRODUCT<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can also read the program documentation or contact the program manufacturer for instructions to remove a non-Norton security product from your computer.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Press the\u00a0Windows<\/strong>\u00a0+\u00a0R<\/strong>\u00a0keys to open the Run dialog box.<\/li>\n
  2. Type in the following text, and then press\u00a0Enter<\/strong>.\n
    appwiz.cpl<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n
  3. In the list of currently installed programs, select the non-Norton security product, and then click\u00a0Uninstall<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Remove<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.<\/li>\n
  5. When the uninstall completes, restart the computer.If the problem persists, go to Step 2.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
    STEP 2<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
    RUN THE NORTON REMOVE AND REINSTALL TOOL<\/strong><\/p>\n
    If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool.<\/p>\n

    1. Download the\u00a0Norton Remove and Reinstall<\/a>\u00a0tool.On Windows XP computers, download the Windows XP compatible version of the\u00a0Norton Remove and Reinstall<\/a> tool. Save the file to the Windows desktop. On some browsers, the file is automatically saved to its default location.<\/li>\n
    2. To open the\u00a0Downloads<\/strong>\u00a0window in your browser, press the\u00a0Ctrl\u00a0+\u00a0J<\/strong>\u00a0key.<\/li>\n
    3. Double-click the\u00a0NRnR<\/strong>\u00a0icon.<\/li>\n
    4. Read the license agreement, and click\u00a0Agree<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    5. Click\u00a0Advanced Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    6. Click\u00a0Remove Only<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    7. Click\u00a0Remove<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    8. Click\u00a0Restart Now<\/strong>.After the computer restarts, follow the on-screen instructions to reinstall the Norton product. If you have any issues reinstalling the Norton product, read\u00a0Download Norton device security product on your device<\/a>. Reinstall Norton Family if you have uninstalled it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
