However, except for iOS, Norton does not block the pop-up advertisements that come up in your web browsers, because of the feature being available by default in the web browsers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> If you are looking for stopping Norton sales and marketing pop-ups, see our article <a href=\"\/faq\/art\/stop-sales-marketing-pop-ups-from-norton\/\">How to stop Norton marketing and special offers pop-up notifications<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure blocking is enabled, check your Internet browser settings, as follows:<\/p>\n<p><u><strong>Mozilla Firefox<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start Firefox.<\/li>\n<li>On the top-right corner, click the <em><strong>Open menu<\/strong><\/em> icon, and click <em><strong>Options<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong><em>Options<\/em><\/strong> window, under <em><strong>Content<\/strong><\/em> tab, select <em><strong>Block pop-up windows<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><u><strong>Google Chrome<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start Google Chrome.<\/li>\n<li>On the top-right corner, click the <em><strong>Customize and control Google Chrome<\/strong><\/em> icon, and click <em><strong>Settings<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em><strong>Settings<\/strong><\/em> window, click <em><strong>Show advanced settings<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Under <em><strong>Privacy<\/strong><\/em>, click <em><strong>Content settings<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em><strong>Content settings<\/strong><\/em> window, scroll down to <em><strong>Pop-ups<\/strong><\/em>, and select <em><strong>Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Click <em><strong>Done<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><u><strong>Safari on Mac<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start Safari on your Mac.<\/li>\n<li>On the menu bar, click <em><strong>Safari<\/strong><\/em>, and then select <em><strong>Preferences<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>On the Security tab, next to <em><strong>Web content<\/strong><\/em>, ensure that <em><strong>Block pop-up windows<\/strong><\/em> is checked.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><u><strong>Microsoft Edge<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Start Microsoft Edge.<\/li>\n<li>On the top-right corner of the window, click the settings icon, and select <em><strong>Settings<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>On the left pane, under <em><strong>Settings<\/strong><\/em>, select <em><strong>Cookies and site permissions<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em><strong>Site permissions<\/strong><\/em> section, click <em><strong>Pop-ups and redirects<\/strong><\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em><strong>Pop-ups and redirects<\/strong><\/em> window, turn on the <em><strong>Block (recommended)<\/strong><\/em> switch.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Download and install Norton Ad Blocker for iOS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On your iOS device, from the springboard, launch\u00a0<strong>App Store<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Search for\u00a0<strong>Norton Ad Blocker<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>From the search results, next to Norton Ad Blocker, tap\u00a0<span class=\"guimenuitem\">Get, and then tap\u00a0<span class=\"guimenuitem\">Install\u00a0to download the app.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>After the download finishes, Ad Blocker icon appears on the device&#8217;s Home screen.
