Yes, Norton 360<\/a> can scan your external hard drive (hard disk). Scanning it for the first time can be longer. Later on, Norton will only scan the new and changed files.<\/p>\n

By default, all drives are automatically included in scans, but they have to be online.<\/p>\n

Manual Scan from Windows Explorer<\/h3>\n

If you want to scan a specific drive manually, you can do it from your Windows Explorer. Just right click on the drive you want to scan, select Norton 360<\/strong>, and then click onto Scan Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Configuring Custom Scan<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Start Norton.If you see the My Norton<\/span><\/strong> window, next to Device Security<\/span><\/strong>, click Open<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the Norton main window, double-click Security<\/span><\/strong>, and then click Scans<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. In the Scans<\/span><\/strong> window, under Scans and Tasks<\/span><\/strong>, click Custom Scan<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Click Go<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. In the Scans<\/span><\/strong> window, do one of the following:\n
      \n
    • To scan specific drives, click Run<\/span><\/strong> next to Drive Scan<\/span><\/strong>, select the drives that you want to scan, and then click Scan<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • To scan specific folders, click Run<\/span><\/strong> next to Folder Scan<\/span><\/strong>, select the folders that you want to scan, and then click Scan<\/span><\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    • To scan specific files, click Run<\/span><\/strong> next to File Scan<\/span><\/strong>, select the files that you want to scan, and then click Add<\/span><\/strong>. You can also press Ctrl<\/span><\/strong>, and select multiple files to scan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • In the Results Summary<\/span><\/strong> window, click Finish<\/span><\/strong>.If any items require attention, review them and take the recommended action.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
